My approach

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

My approach to treating Anxiety, Worry, and Panic uses a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Sometimes we do things that don’t work for us long term in an effort to get rid of anxiety. Maybe this is overeating, overworking or drinking too much alcohol.

These behaviors might work temporarily, but over time it keeps our anxiety and worry in place. In some cases these behaviors lead to health problems down the road.

We will look at these behaviors non-judgmentally and see what we can do to build a life that commits to your values and where you want to be.

We will look at some negative thinking patterns that get in your way. Our thoughts can get distorted when we are under stress. Or we may not be thinking clearly about a situation or seeing the whole picture.

In ACT and CBT we focus on the present and look at ways of managing stress and anxiety better.
